Breath Core Balance is a type of yoga sequencing I have pieced together myself through my own personal experience with yoga, functional movement education via personal training, as well as life epiphanies, travels, research, and lots and lots of reading.
Breath Core Balance is founded on three pillars that seep into our everyday lives. Starting with breath, the only part of our bodies that is both automated and controlled, linking the physical body and the mind. Then, we move into core, which is our center of power, both physically and mentally. Lastly, we use balance to bring it all together and strive to find a middle ground in dealing with challenging movements on our mat, which preps the mind for dealing with challenging scenarios in our daily lives, off the mat. Some FAQs include the "type" of yoga and if it is suitable for beginners. I encourage you to just show up. My classes are always geared towards all levels, are never HOT or FAST, but they may get warm and flowy. Some days we may slow it way down and hold postures longer, using our breath to turn off our minds and check in to our bodies, others we may find a groove, link breath with movement, and keep a steady pace.
I remember the start of my yoga journey. The atmosphere needed to be perfect. The teacher, the scent, the music. Although I have been there, I can only tell you to lean into your desire to try yoga out and don't be dismayed if you have an experience that doesn't quite vibe with you. I feel confident that I can bridge the gap for those who are interested, yet skeptical, nervous, intimated, or whatever emotion you may be feeling. However, I can not guarantee your comfort level will not be pushed.
